TV actress Anita Lokhande, girlfriend of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, recently revealed that she was considered to play female lead opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Happy New Year’.

“I was considered for this role, so it is a good thing. It is unfortunate it couldn't happen. I don't know why things did not work out. I think there is a prejudice against TV actors. I was working on TV, and if I was considered for it is a big thing," Ankita said to PTI.

The character will now be essayed by Deepika Padukone.

Other than Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, the movie also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani.

The film revolves around a bunch of male friends and how situation forces them to participate in a dance competition.

The female lead will apparently play the role of a bar dancer, who will help these friends win the dance trophy.

This is choreographer turned director Farah Khan’s fourth directorial venture.
