If any further proof was required for the reconciliation between Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor then the confirmation of Kaminey sequel will be it.

The rumors regarding Kaminey 2 were riff from the time Kaminey went on to become a huge hit. But the fall out between Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor altered the plans. The director and the actor duo patched up during Shahid Kapoor’s birthday bash in February.

They even attended Amole Gupte’s (who played the main villain in Kaminey) screening of Stanley Ka Dabba together. The trio was joined by the writer Abhishek Chaubey which ignited the talks of Kaminey 2.

While the plans of Kaminey 2 seem to be in full flow, the leading lady Priyanka Chopra has been axed from the sequel. Speculations are rife that the estranged relationship between Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra is the reason.

But the source close to Kaminey camp rubbished the rumors and said, “No, it's got nothing to do with the personal equation between Shahid and Priyanka. She just doesn't fit into the sequel. Nor, for that matter, does Chandan Roy Sanyal, who played Shahid's best friend in the first part.”

The source further stated, “Vishal is currently scripting Kaminey 2. He will first direct a film with Ajay Devgn to be co-produced by Devgn, Kumar Mangat and himself. He will then start working on Kaminey 2, for which Shahid will have to prepare once again. Vishal wants Shahid to work on the six-pack look to play one of the twins. Right after Kaminey 2, Vishal will direct 2 States with Shah Rukh Khan for producer Sajid Nadiadwala”.
