Ever since her IPL team Rajasthan Royals got embroiled in match fixing controversy, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has chosen to stay away from the spotlight.

But the actress made on appearance at the glitzy Star Paarivar Awards to grab her special award.

The actress, who was accompanied by 'India's dancing superstar' mentor Riteish Deshmukh at the ceremony held at the Yash Raj Studio, said that she was going through a bad phase.

“I need to be careful now as I am going through a bad phase. But I am really honored that I have bagged this special award. I always get nervous when I get an award because I haven't got many in my career,” said Shilpa Shetty at the event.

Guru Dutt biopic to be directed by Bhavna Talwar

The long awaited biopic of legendary actor and filmmaker Guru Dutt has finally got its director. The movie will be helmed by female director Bhavna Talwar of ‘Dharm’ fame.

Not just that but Bhavna Talwar has also only managed to grab exclusive rights o use all the celebrated songs from Dutt's films.

“It would look at the man and the filmmaker from one range of vision, mine. There will be lots of music. But only what is required. We won't overuse Guru Dutt's vast repertoire of music just because we have access to it,” Bhavna Talwar confirmed to IANS.

In his lifetime Guru Dutt has worked with music legends like Sachin Dev Burman, Sahir Ludhianvi, Geeta Dutt, and Mohammad Rafi creating evergreen songs like Jaane kya tune kahi, Waqt ne kiya kya haseen situm, Yeh duniya agar mil bhi jaye toh kya hai and Dekhi zamanein ki yaari. These songs will now feature as part of Guru Dutt’s biopic.

Jiah Khan's letter will be sent to handwriting expert: Police

The media has been buzzing with speculations that the six paged letter by actress Jiah Khan doesn’t match the handwriting of the actress. But a police officer has termed these reports as nothing but mere “media speculations”.

The officer denied that their department ever released a statement stating that the letter has been sent for forensic examination. But the officer said that the letter will now be sent for an examination.

“There is no new development as such. All these reports in the media which say that the handwriting does not match are media speculation. We have not released any such statement. The letter will now be sent to forensic experts," Vishwas Nangre Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police (West), said.

Actress Jiah Khan committed suicide on June 3 by hanging herself in her home in Mumbai. Few days later her mother handed the police the letter, which also served as a suicide note, in which she talked about her doomed relationship with alleged boyfriend Suraj Pancholi, the son of actors Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi.

Sushant Singh and Parineeti Chopra movie titled 'Shuddh Desi Romance’

Yash Raj Films has finally revealed the title of its upcoming movie starring Sushant Singh and Parineeti Chopra.

The movie directed by Maneesh Sharma of ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ has been titled ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’.

The movie will be a "fresh and very real love story about the hair-raising minefield between love, attraction and commitment", read a statement from YRF.

"Finally, a romantic comedy that tells it like it is," the statement added.

The production house described the movie as a “classy, candid look at the affairs of the heart in today's desi heartland”.

Ranbir kapoor to play a detective in 'Jagga Jasoos'

Filmmaker Anurag Basu and actor Ranbir Kapoor, who created magic with their movie ‘Barfi!’, are reuniting for yet another movie titled ‘Jagga Jasoos’.

Actor Ranbir Kapoor revealed that he will be playing a detective for the first time in ‘Jagga Jasoos’.

“Yes, this is our second film together. It's a detective film,” confirmed Ranbir Kapoor to IANS.

The actor revealed that the movie will go on floors next year.

Along with ‘Jagga Jasoos’, the team of Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor will also be making a biopic based on legendary singer Kishore Kumar’s life. But the project has been shelved indefinitely.

Suraj Pancholi to stay in police custody till June 21

Aspiring actor and son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, Suraj Pancholi, who has been charged with abetting the suicide of his actress girlfriend Jiah Khan, will stay in jail till June 21, when his bail application will be heard by a Mumbai court. Mr. Pancholi had been sent to jail till June 27 by the court.

Jiah Khan’s mother handed a six paged letter as a suicide note to the authorities. In this six paged letter Jiah Khan spoke about her turbulent relationship but never mentioned any name. But this letter has been taken as evidence against Suraj, who had been dating Jiah Khan for over a year.

“There is a suicide note, there is a statement of (Khan's) mother and some circumstantial evidence of triggering," said Additional Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre-Patil to news agency AFP.

In court, Mr. Pancholi's lawyer argued that the letter found after Ms Khan's death does not name his client.

'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again' title and release date changed

The title and release date of the most eagerly anticipated movie ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ again have been changed.

While the title of the movie has been changed to ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’, the release date of the movie has been pushed back from August 8 to August 15 to avoid a clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chennai Express’.

“Yes, the movie has been renamed as ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ and it will release on August 15," Girish Johar, Head of Distribution and Acquisition, Balaji Motion Pictures confirmed.

The release date of the movie was changed after Shah Rukh Khan spoke to veteran actor Jeetendra, who arranged a meeting between him, UTV (producers of ‘Chennai Express’) and SRK to push the release date of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’.

"Keeping in mind that both weekends (8th August and 15th August) are good times for film releases, Jeetendra sir, being the senior most, showed the path. He took the decision to move the film to August 15. This is extremely graceful of him," Shah Rukh said in a statement here.

Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi, who got the ‘serial kisser’ tag thanks to kissing his co-stars in hi movies, has decided not to mention his kiss with Vidya Balan in their upcoming movie ‘Ghanchakkar’ for the fear of Vidya Balan’s husband UTV head Siddharth Roy Kapoor, who also produced the movie.

“I have promised myself that for this film I will not answer this question. Siddharth, Vidya's husband, is the head of this production house. If I want to do more films with them, then let's not talk about it,” said Emraan Hashmi to IANS.

Vidya Balan, who plays a Punjabi housewife in the movie, said that she was apprehensive about her first comedy movie.

“When I was offered this role, I thought I could not do it. I am glad my director convinced me. I had fun doing this quirky film. I hope people enjoy it too,” said Vidya Balan.

“I have roped in fresh pair Ranbir and Jacqueline for my next film. It's a two-hero film. We are yet to finalize the other actor," Bhushan Kumar told IANS.

The producer also revealed that Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen in a double role for the first time.

“For the first time, Jacqueline will be seen playing a double-role. It's a very interesting concept, which is a love story with a thriller element,” he said.

Actress Jiah Khan commits suicide at her home in Mumbai

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan has committed suicide by hanging herself at her Juhu residence, the police said.

Jiah Khan, who was just 25, committed suicide by hanging herself late last night. The body was found by her mother, Rabiya Khan, at 11 PM. The body was sent to Cooper hospital for postmortem.

Jiah Khan’s maid servant, watchman and neighbors are being interrogated to find out the details about her last visitor.

According to a close friend of the actress, Jiah Khan might have committed suicide due to her depression. But the friend added that the actress was finally got out of depression and meeting new filmmakers.

Jiah Khan, whose real name is Nafisa Khan, was brought up in London. The actress recently moved to Mumbai to pursue her career in Bollywood.

The actress made her debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan in a controversial movie ‘Nishabd’ in March 2007. Jiah Khan played the role of a young girl who falls in love with her best friend’s father. Though the movie got mixed reviews for its bold content, actress Jiah Khan’s confident performance was praised. The actress even earned a nomination for Filmfare Best Debut award.
