Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have done eight films together. Still, their 9th project ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ was supposed to unique from the rest. It was going to their first romantic comedy movie.
Now, they would have to wait longer to do a rom-com together due to Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy. The film’s shooting will start from July this year and its impossible for Aishwarya Rai to do the film.
The director Raj Kumar Santoshi will have to find a replacement and find it soon.
The source close to movie said that it would be none other than Ash and Abhishek’s best friend Preity Zinta who would replace Aishwarya. Also rumored to be in contention are Katrina Kaif and Deepika Padukone.
The movie’s cast has been uncertain ever since the project was finalized. There were rumors saying that this movie would be pairing up Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone for the very first time. But it was Abhishek Bachchan who was the part of the project from word go.
It was female leads that were hard to finalize. But after Abhishek signed on the movie, Aishwarya Rai accepted to star opposite her husband.
But now with Ash backing off, Raj Kumar Santoshi is back to square one. But the director says, “The fact that Aishwarya and Abhishek are going to be parents is far more important than anything to do with my film. The nature of the part that she was playing no longer suits her."
Though this movie won't star Aishwarya, the director said that he would be working with the actress soon.
"It's a project that I've written specially for her. The role cannot be played by anyone else. I will start it as soon as she is ready”, said the director.
