The cast and crew of an upcoming movie ‘Players’ were thrilled when the Prime Minister of New Zealand John Phillip Keys visited the sets of the movie in Film Cityin Mumbai.

The Prime Minister decided to pay a visit and meet the unit as major part of the movie is being shot in New Zealand.

‘Players’ stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor in the lead. The movie is being directed by Abbas-Mustan and is the official remake of Hollywood movie Italian Job.

While Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu were lucky to rendezvous with the Prime Minister, Sonam Kapoor missed out on the opportunity thanks to her ill health.

A source from set said, “It was a very special afternoon. Bipasha and Abhishek were shooting, at FilmCity, with director Abbas-Mustan. Since a major part of Players was shot in New Zealand, the prime minister decided to pay the unit a visit. Sonam, who was not scheduled to shoot that day, was quickly called to the sets, since she and Bipasha play the romantic leads opposite Abhishek. However, Sonam informed them that she couldn't come because she was ill”.

The unit presented Key with a Ganesh Idol holding a handicam which symbolizes Bollywood’s association withNew Zealand.

Keys in return presented them a beautifully framed print from the movie King Kong, signed by Richard Taylor, co-producer of Lord of the Rings.

"Namaste! I'd like to thank Viacom18, Abbas and Mustan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu for making their wonderful film Players in New Zealand. I did manage to see a couple of pictures from the filming down in Wellington and Auckland. New Zealand is a great place to make films and is very popular with the Bollywood industry. We've already had 150 Bollywood movies made in New Zealand”, Key said.

After Key left the set Abhishek Bachchan through an impromptu birthday bash for Mastan. This was also missed by Sonam Kapoor.
