Everyone has a dark side: Emraan Hashmi

Over the years, Emraan Hashmi has gained a reputation for his portrayal of dark characters. The talented actor said that everybody has a villainous side in them and accepting that fact makes things better.

“All of us have a dark side to us but we just try and shy away from talking about it. I am not ashamed of my own dark side and am very comfortable with it”, said the actor.

Emraan Hashmi is known for his portrayal of negative character in movies like ‘Gangster’, ‘Murder’ and ‘Once Upon a time in Mumbai’. Now again, the actor is geared up portray another dark character.

“Life is not all goody-goody, realistic situations have shades of darkness and it is important to be portrayed. In the new film am playing a cop who gets involved in serious problems due to a girl who comes into his life," said Emraan.

When asked why his original co-star of Murder, Mallika Sherawat wasn’t in the movie, Emraan said that Mallika had no role in the movie.

"I think you will realize why Mallika is not there and Jacqueline is, only after watching the film. This role was apt for Jaqueline and not for Mallika. In fact she had no role in this film".

"Both the stories have different settings. Murder was Anurag Basu's film and M2 is Mohit Suri's interpretation on flesh trade and much more bold issues. I think this is more disturbing film”, said the actor.

The movie has already gained reputation of being a soft-porn movie. When asked Emraan he said, “If people feel its soft porn, it's alright. According to me, it's a suspense thriller. It's not just about bold scenes but more than that."
