Emile Jerome who had recently filed a petition against the movie ‘Not a Love Story’ in Mumbai High Court lost the case as the High Court ruled in favor of Ram Gopal Varma.
Emile who was has been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment after being convicted for the murder of Neeraj Grover, sent a legal notice to Ram Gopal Varma saying that the director had to seek his consent before releasing the movie. He was scared that the movie that was based on his life would depict him in the wrong way.
The hearing took place yesterday and the court ruled in favor of Ram Gopal Varma. They reached the verdict absolving the film of any infringement in the case. It was further stated that the movie carried the disclaimer ‘All the characters shown in the film are fictitious and any resemblance to anyone, living or dead is purely coincidental'.
Ramu has always maintained that the movie is ‘inspired’ by the Neeraj Grover murder but not the actual depiction.
The movie will release on the 19th of August.
