Kannada Superstar Upendra agreed to play an important role in 'Aadi Shankara', the directorial of popular writer JK Bharavi. Besides Upendra, King Nagarjuna also agreed to play a prominent role in the film. Now, the film has become a multi-starrer with Upendra’s presence.

Kaushik Babu who acted in Swamy Manikanta is playing the role of Aadi Shankaracharya. Aadi Shankara would be released in Telugu and Kannada. Upendra is playing the role of Maharaja Amaruka in the film.

Upendra expressed his happiness for signing the film and said that he is super excited to be part of the film. He also said that this role will suit his body language.
