Deepika Padukone, who has previously romanced Akshay Kumar in movies ‘Chandni Chowk To China’ and ‘Housefull’, will be for the first time seen in a love-hate relationship with him in their upcoming movie ‘Desi Boyz’.

The actress said that it was difficult for her to play a character that dislikes Akshay Kumar as she is personally very fond of him.

"It was tough for me to play a part where I don't like Akshay. I am extremely fond of Akshay. I have done my first few films with him and this is my third film. To be so comfortable with him in real life and then pretend not to like him in front of the camera is very difficult but as actors we have to step into the world of make-belief," Deepika told PTI.

In the movie ‘Desi Boyz’ Deepika Padukone is paired opposite John Abraham while Chitrangada Singh is paired opposite Akshay Kumar.

Deepika Padukone though is happy to be paired opposite John Abraham and not Akshay Kumar as expected.

“Many would have expected Akshay and I to be together as a pair but then there wouldn't have been any novelty about it. Akshay is there in my scenes with John. Since the three of us share good friendship off the camera, the chemistry is visible on screen too," said Deepika Padukone.
