If Aamir Khan had his way, ‘Dhobi Ghat’ might just not have been Kiran Rao’s directorial debut but also her acting debut.

Aamir Khan said that he was keen on romancing Kiran Rao on-screen but Kiran Rao wasn’t interested in that idea.

“I wanted Kiran to play the character Yasmeen in Dhobi Ghat, but she refused, so I lost my chance to romance her on-screen. I wanted her to act as she is a very good actress, but she was making a lot of fuss,” said Aamir Khan.

But Kiran Rao seems to be on a totally different page. She said that she would prefer to debut opposite Irrfan Khan rather than Aamir Khan.

“If I have to debut as an actress, I would prefer to do so with Irrfan or any new actor, as I like art house cinema and non-commercial actors,” said Kiran Rao.
