After Shah Rukh Khan’s infamous slap its Saif Ali Khan who got involved in an ugly brawl on last Tuesday. Ever since then the brawl has become one of the most covered news in the media.

According to reports, Saif Ali Khan along with girlfriend Kareena Kapoor and his friends were at Wasabi restaurant at Taj Hotel having their dinner. Iqbal Sharma, a resident of Juhu, was also having dinner with his family at an adjoining table. Iqbal later complained to the hotel staff about the excessive noise from Saif Ali Khan’s table. This dint go down well with Saif Ali Khan, who decided to settle the matters physically.

But according to Saif Ali Khan he punched Iqbal Sharma only out of self defense.

Now, his beau Kareena Kapoor, who rather stayed calm through out the incident, has come out to support Saif Ali Khan’s claims.

“I haven’t spoken about what happened that night, but now I feel I should because whatever is being said is completely one-sided. This man (Iqbal Sharma) is publicity-hungry. How can a man with a broken nose and jaw speak continuously on TV for more than 10 hours?” asked Kareena Kapoor while talking to a daily.

“Saif was provoked. He’s a thorough gentleman and would never get into a brawl, especially with women around,” she added.

Explaining the event Kareena Kapoor said, “We were having dinner at Wasabi (a restaurant in Mumbai) when Iqbal stormed into our corner and started screaming at us. The only people present at that time were Sharma’s group and ours. We were laughing and talking, but certainly not screaming! There was no reason for this man to come to our table and shout at Saif. Even so, Saif said sorry but he continued to rant.”

Kareena also said that Iqbal’s claims that he dint know who Saif Ali Khan was, as his wife came up to them and talk.

“He (Iqbal) is saying he didn’t know that there were actors present at the table. But his wife Tarina and Malaika had greeted each other just a little while before! The funny thing is when Tarina saw her husband making a scene, instead of stopping him she got into the lift and ran away!” she claimed.

The actress also denied the reports of Saif Ali Khan pushing Iqbal’s father in law. She said it was in fact Iqbal who had pushed Saif.

“Iqbal pushed Saif and the old man joined in. When Shakeel (Ladak) and Bilal (Amrohi) saw this, they came to his rescue. Saif is very respectful towards seniors and he knows how to behave in public places. I am not saying this because I am in a relationship with him. It’s a fact,” she said.

The actress said this was nothing more than a publicity stunt by Iqbal Sharma.

“We were witness to what happened and this is a sure case of Saif being targeted because of his celebrity status. It’s disgusting,” she concluded.
