The role of ‘Kancha Cheena’ from the movie ‘Agneepath’ has resurrected Sanjay Dutt’s career to a whole new level.  It’s only after his ‘Munna Bhai’ role that Sanjay Dutt has tasted such success.

With his acting being appreciated both by critics and audience, Sanjay Dutt has decided to raise his price from Rs.5 crore to Rs.10 crore.

While the filmmakers in the industry are reeling with this news, Sanjay Dutt's CEO Dharam Oberoi said that the hike was appropriate.

“Every actor raises his price after a big success. If Sanju has delivered the biggest hit of 2012 so far, doesn't he deserve the hike?” said Dharam Oberoi to a daily.

Apparently, Sanjay Dutt’s role of ‘Kancha Cheena’ hasn’t just helped him in his acting career but also his political career.

“People cheered him at the election campaigning too,” he said.

A close friend of Sanjay Dutt said that Sanjay Dutt is in a happy place post ‘Agneepath’ as both his careers seem to be creeping up.

“While a certain section of the audience found Agneepath extremely violent, there is a large section which has lapped up the film and Dutt's stupendous performance,” said the friend to Mumbai Mirror.

It will be interesting to see how producers respond to this hike.
