After delivering one of biggest hits of 2011 with ‘The Dirty Picture’, actress Vidya Balan has started this year with a bang with her movie ‘Kahaani’.

The movie that released last Friday opened with rave reviews by critics and has captured the hearts of the audience. Vidya Balan’s acting in the movie is said to be so fantastic that many critics said that it wouldn’t surprise them if the actress walked away with yet another national award next year.

Out of many wildly impressed personalities from film fraternity, director Anurag Kashyap is one of them.

“Kahaani' is how a thriller should be shot...the ending is debatable but what an effort,” wrote Anurag Kashyap on his Twitter page.

“Vidya is slowly emerging to be a true successor of Aamir (Khan)... a great career is defined by choices one makes and courage to see it through,” he further tweeted.

The actress recently won National Award for her performance as Silk in the movie ‘The Dirty Picture’.

The movie ‘Kahaani’ is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and tells a story of a pregnant NRI lady who comes to India in search of her husband. The movie solely rests on Vidya Balan’s shoulders and has no known male lead. Thanks to her women-centric roles Vidya Balan has now earned the title of 'new hero of Bollywood'.
