Actress Katrina Kaif will play the female lead in Prakash Jha’s next movie ‘Satyagrah’.

Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor both were considered for the role but finally Prakash Jha decided to with Katrina Kaif, with whom he has worked in the movie ‘Rajneeti’, which became a huge hit at the box-office.

“Katrina and Kareena were being considered for the role but it is Kat who has bagged it finally. We are still trying to sort out the dates with her,” said a source.

The movie ‘Satyagrah’ is based on the subject of anti-corruption and is loosely inspired by the Anna Hazare episode.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Madhuri Dixit, who has previously worked with Prakash Jha in ‘Mrityudand’, will also feature in the movie. Previously it was stated that Amitabh Bachchan would be a part of the movie but nothing about this has been confirmed yet.

This is the fifth time that Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have been paired opposite each other. Infact, Akshay Kumar also considered Katrina Kaif his lucky mascot as all the movies they were in were a box-office hit until the recent ‘Tees Maar Khan’.
