Charu Khandal, Red Chillies animator, who has been battling for life in Kokilaben Ambani hospital after a drunk Honda City driver hit her, went through her first surgery on Thursday.

According to the sources the neck surgery has been successful.

Charu, who was traveling in an auto along with her sister Ritu and friend Vikrant Goyal, was hit by a Honda City, which turned the auto turtle.

Charu suffered multiple fractures in her leg and spine besides grave injuries on her head. Her sister Ritu was lucky and suffered only minor injuries. But her friend Goyal’s condition is said to be serious.

The police arrested Manoj Gautam, who was driving the car at the time, for negligent and rash driving. But he was granted bail recently.
