Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned in promoting his debut television show ‘Satyamev Jayate’.

To promote his show even further, the actor will appear in Star Plus’s popular television show ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’.

“DABH is a successful show and I have seen parts of it. My mother watches it regularly, so does Kiran (wife Kiran Rao) which is how I end up watching it at times too,” said Aamir Khan to HT.

The last time actor appeared on television was for Vipul Shah’s show, whose title he doesn’t even remember.

“That was 10 years ago,” he said.

The choice of morning 11am slot on Sunday for his show has come as a surprise to many. But the actor said that that slot was chosen because he dint want any competition from other shows.

“I took the Sunday slot only because I didn’t want any competition from other primetime TV shows. I don’t watch much TV, I’m more into books, but I loved Takeshi’s Castle; Javed’s (Jafri) commentary was hilarious,” he said.

Reports are doing rounds stating that Aamir Khan’s first episode will touch on the sensitive subject of female infanticide in India. It’s also being said that another episode will showcase the life and works of Mr. Patel, who works towards improving the lives of senior citizens.

When asked if above rumors were true Aamir Khan smiled neither denying nor confirming the reports.

“I want people to watch the show and experience it first hand. It is about real people living in India...Their stories,” was all he said.

The show will not only be shown on eight Star channels but also on Doordarshan.

Recently, Aamir Khan was in news for attending the wedding of an auto rickshaw driver’s son.

“Ram Lakhan came to Mumbai to invite me for the wedding. He traveled for over 30 hours in the general compartment of a train and went back the same way. I was overwhelmed, I had to make time for the function,” the actor concluded.
