Even though Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders have done fantastically this year and have reached the final to be played this Sunday, Shah Rukh Khan himself hasn’t been having such a great time as he has been involved in one controversy after another.

Today the actor pleaded guilty for smoking in public and has agreed to pay fine for the same but has requested the court to grant exemption from personal appearance regarding the same case.

The actor was caught smoking during an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals on April 8 played at Swai Man Singh Stadium in Rajasthan.

Complaint against Shah Rukh Khan was filed on April 9 by Anand Singh, who runs Jaipur Cricket Academy. He sought action against Khan for smoking in public when smoking in public is clearly illegal in India.

The Rajasthan Police lodged the complaint and on April 21 Shah Rukh Khan was ordered to appear before the local court in Rajasthan on May 26.

For now the case has been adjourned for June 21 and Shah Rukh Khan hasn’t been directed to be present during the proceedings.
