Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor and style diva Sonam Kapoor turns 27 today.

The actress, who generally celebrates her birthday with a huge birthday bash at home, will have a much mellow birthday this year as she only plans to get together with her school friends for lunch.

“For me, birthdays are always very special and they would always be huge celebrations at home. I feel like a princess on the day even more,” said Sonam Kapoor to a daily.

“For me the celebrations begin in my head several days before and go on for much later too,” she added.

The actress said that her huge party will happen once her Dad, Anil Kapoor, returns from Turkey, where he is shooting for ‘Race 2’.

The actress, who is currently undergoing training for her role in ‘Ranjhana’, has taken a two day break to celebrate.

“For me the celebrations begin in my head several days before and go on for much later too,” she concluded.

Two days ago, the actress has requested her fans to donate money to Ogaan Cancer Foundation, with whom she has collaborated to raise awareness about breast cancer.

“Two days to my birthday guys! Please donate generously,” she wrote on her Twitter page.

“It is my privilege to be associated with Ogaan Cancer Foundation and play a part in spreading breast cancer awareness. Everyone seems to know someone with breast cancer - I lost an aunt to it. I'm very happy to support the OCF team, which has shown earnestness and a sense of dedicated purpose. I hope I can make a difference in my own way. Therefore this year on my birthday I urge friends, family and fans who wish to gift me to do so by donating to this cause,” she tweeted further.
