The release date of Kareena Kapoor’s eagerly awaited project ‘Heroine’ has been pushed back a week and the movie will now release on September 21, which also happens to be Kareena Kapoor’s birthday.
“We decided to make things special for her (Kareena) with a bit of a reshuffle,” said the director of the movie, Madhur Bhandarkar, to HT.
Kareena Kapoor is very excited with this new development.
“I would call it (Heroine) my best work till date. After Jab We Met (2007), I think I have really put my sweat and blood into this film. So what better birthday gift than it coming out on the same day?” she said.
With the date being pushed back a week, the movie will now clash with two more women-centric movies ‘English Vinglish’ and ‘Ishkq in Paris’.
‘English Vinglish’ stars Sridevi and is a comeback movie for her, where she plays a housewife who enrolls herself for English classes. The movie is a comedy.
‘Ishkq in Paris’ is maiden production venture of Preity Zinta, where she also plays the lead. The movie is a romantic set in backdrop of beautiful country of France and mostly the most romantic city of the world Paris.
When asked about her movie clashing with two others she said, “I don’t think about such things. Many films release on a Friday. At the end of the day, you can’t really control it.”
It’s been rumored that the reason behind the postponement of the movie was one of the schedules of the movie running slow.
“If that was the case, what difference would a week make? Heroine is on course. There’s no problem at all,” retorted Madhur Bhandarkar.
It remains to be seem whether the two others movies will be postponed or preponed to avoid clash with Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Heroine’.
