It’s no longer a secret that actor Salman Khan has taken Tollywood Superstar Ram Charan Teja under his wing. Ram Charan Teja is set to make his Bollywood debut with the remake of classic movie ‘Zanjeer’ by Apoorva Lakhia.
Salman Khan, who is very fond of Ram Charan, has taken up the responsibility to look after his career and is taking a keen interest the ‘Zanjeer’ remake.
Last week Salman invited Apoorva Lakhia and Ram Charan over for dinner to discuss the movie. The actor even suggested changes to the script and Ram Charan’s character, which are currently being implemented by the director.
“Salman called Ramcharan and Apu home to discuss Zanjeer. He then began to astutely compare the new and old Zanjeer. The first suggestion that he made was to incorporate songs for Ramcharan's character. In the original Inspector Vijay Khanna as played by Amitabh Bachchan was too serious a man to sing and dance. Salman wants that to change. He said to Ramcharan, 'You're one of the best dancers in Indian cinema. It would be silly to not have you sing and dance,” said a source to a daily.
Not just Ram Charan’s character but Salman Khan also went ahead to suggest changes to Priyanka Chopra’s character and has asked the director to increase the glam quotient of Priyanka’s character.
“Salman feels Priyanka's character can be a lot more attractive. He has suggested changes in her clothes, styling, songs and choreography. Since Priyanka doesn't start shooting for Zanjeer until October her character is being revamped as per Selman’s suggestions,” source said.
The source also confessed that the fact that Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, had co-written original ‘Zanjeer’ along with Javed Akhtar is also a crucial part of Salman taking interest in the movie.
“Partly that. But it's more because of how protective he feels towards Ramcharan Teja. The young Telugu superstar and his father the iconic Chiranjeevi are very dear to Salman. Salman feels Ramcharan's future in Bollywood is a personal responsibility,” source concluded.
The movie is currently in production stage and is scheduled to release later this year.
