While many actors and actresses shy away from working with their ex’s, scared that things between them would be awkward, Deepika Padukone is teaming up with her ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor for the movie ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.
But the actress said that there was absolutely no awkwardness between them.
“I feel if there was any sort of awkwardness I would not have signed the film. We agree to do the film together because we knew that there will be a certain comfort. I think in that sense we both have handled it very well,” Deepika Padukone said to PTI.
“I think we have handled it how to keep our personal life aside and focus on our professional commitments. For us nothing matters than doing this film itself. But on a personal note, we have a beautiful friendship and I am glad that we are friends and I respect that more than anything else,” she added.
Post break-up things between Deepika and Ranbir weren’t all that smooth. But both eventually moved on and later decided to work together in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.
Rumors later started that the couple had in fact rekindled their romance.
“That's not true at all. He is very happy doing what he is doing and I am happy doing what I am doing. I think we are happy being friends and we should leave it there itself,” she said.
This is the second movie that Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are doing. The actress had met Ranbir Kapoor for the first time during their first movie ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’.
Meanwhile Karan Johar recently revealed that the movie would hit the screens on 29th of March, 2013.
