Actor Salman Khan will soon join his Bollywood counterparts like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan in 'Bollywood Zone' of wax figures at Madame Tussauds museum in New York.

“Salman Khan is one of Bollywood's most enduring and recognizable stars,” said the general manager of Madame Tussauds New York, Bret Pidgeon.

The general manager said that Bollywood had become one of America’s most exciting entertaining sectors.

“Bollywood exploded on the American pop culture scene several years ago and has become one of our most exciting entertainment categories,” he said.

Salman Khan’s wax figure from London’s Madame Tussauds museum was launched for three months in January 2008 after he beat nine other Indian mega-stars - including Madhuri Dixit, Hrithik Roshan, Lata Mangeshkar and Abhishek Bachchan -in an August 2007 public poll to choose the Next Bollywood Star that would get a wax likeness.

Salman Khan has chosen the attire for the wax figurine personally and has donated black top and denim jeans.

The wax statue will be unveiled on August 2nd.
