Actress Sonakshi Sinha’s song ‘Go Go Govinda’ from the movie ‘Oh My God’ has become famous as Sonakshi Sinha’s first item number. But the actress seems to have different opinion as she doesn’t consider the song to be an item number.

“It’s not an item number. It is a song with a difference,” she Sonakshi Sinha to HT in an interview.

“The term ‘item song’ is used very loosely these days. Any solo number is termed as an item song. This is a good song with Prabhu, and is very different from other item numbers,” she further added.

The actress said that the song composed by Himesh Reshamiya and choreographed by Prabhu Deva has a ‘young feel to it’. She also added that she personally loved the song.

“I feel nice about the song. It is very festive,” she said.

The song takes place during Janmashtami and depicts dahi handi event, where Sonakshi plays Govinda but fortunately it wasn’t her but small kids who got on top of the pyramid to break the handi.

“The human pyramid had only women between the ages of 6 to 60. The sturdier women were at the bottom while the teenagers stood on them and the small kids broke the matki,” she concluded.

The movie is an adaption of Paresh Rawal’s Gujarati play ‘Kanji Viruddh Kanji’, which was made in Hindi as ‘Krishna vs Kanhaiya’. Akshay Kumar was so impressed with the play that he immediately bought the rights for the play and started working on its movie adaption.

The movie features Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Pankaj Kapoor and Nidhi Subbaiah, in a small role.
