Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has verbally agreed to play the role of a Pakistani national in Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty's directorial debut.

“He (Resul) had come to me... He had met me. He wanted to make a film with me. We had some discussions but nothing has been finalized yet,” said Amitabh Bachchan to PTI.

Resul Pookutty, who won an Academy Award for best sound mixing for the movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, confirmed the same.

“I have approached Mr. Bachchan for the film that I want to direct. The character is from another country but it is not a political film. It is an extremely human subject that touches the lives of people on both sides of the border,” he said.

The movie is said to be an emotional drama and will concentrate on the relationship between a father and son.
