If the reports are to be believed then Bachchan might play the role of an aging Shakespearean stage actor in Mahesh Manjrekar's screen adaptation of celebrated play Natsamrat, penned by V V Shirwadkar.
“Mahesh Manjrekar will be directing it but it is at a nascent stage. It is a very nice and famous play, lot of big artists have been part of it. I can't talk much about it... It is too early,” said Amitabh Bachchan to PTI.
If everything goes according to plan then it will be Amitabh Bachchan’s first ever screen adaptation of Marathi literature.
Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in Sridevi’s comeback movie ‘English Vinglish’, in which he has a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo.
“It is not great (kamaal) and all. Sridevi is the heroine of the film, and the movie is based on her. The only thing that I do in the film is I just pass through her...nothing else,” he said.
‘English Vinglish’ is being directed by Gauri Shinde, wife of ace filmmaker R Balki. R. Balki is co- producing the movie along with Eros Entertainment.
The movie ‘English Vinglish’ was earlier scheduled to release on September 21 but the release date has been pushed back to October 5 to avoid clash with Kareena Kapoor’s ‘Heroine’ that will release on September 21.
