The trailer of Aamir Khan’s eagerly awaited movie ‘Talaash’ has received tremendous response from the audience. Producers Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani and director Reema Kagti will now start with the promotional work of the film.
Even though Aamir Khan is currently in Chicago shooting Yash Raj Film’s ‘Dhoom 3’, he said that he was very much a part of promotion discussions.
“The promotion work on Talaash has begun, and though I am in Chicago, I'm very much involved in the whole process, thanks to the internet,” said Aamir Khan to a daily.
Previously there have been rumors that Aamir Khan is at loggerheads with his director as he is not happy with the outcome of the movie. But Aamir Khan dismissed these rumors and said that Reema Kagti is a wonderful director.
“Reema has been great to work with. I find her to be an excellent director. As an actor, there were so many things I missed out about the character I'm playing, but Reema pointed them out to me, and I was able to use her inputs to enhance my role. She is very perceptive, and since she is also a writer, she brings that additional strength to the table. She's very clear as to what she wants from her actors, and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her,” he said.
The actor said that with ‘Talaash’ he will bring back the lost genre of cult ‘suspense’ classics as seen in yesteryears’ famous movies Madhubala-Ashok Kumar's ‘Howrah Bridge’ (1958) and Dilip Kumar-Vyjayanthimala's ‘Madhumati’ (1958).
“Somehow this genre of cinema went missing in later years,” he said.
“‘Talaash’ is a thriller that shows a city's night life, underbelly, hookers...” he added.
The anticipation surrounding ‘Talaash’ is very high as this will be Aamir Khan’s release for nearly a gap of two and half years. Aamir Khan too said that his entire concentration was on ‘Talaash’ and ‘Talaash’ alone.
“At the moment, my sights are trained on ‘Talaash’. It is also my first release after ‘Dhobi Ghat’,” he concluded.
Along with Aamir Khan, the movie also stars Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in lead roles. The movie will release on November 30.
