Anurag Basu’s movie ‘Barfi’, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Cruz, has opened to rave reviews from critics and audience alike.

Ranbir Kapoor’s performance as dumb and deaf Murphy is said to be phenomenal and Amitabh Bachchan also seems to think the same.

“In 'Barfi', the lovely Ileana d'Cruz in her debut for Hindi film ... such a mature and balanced performance .. many congratulations,” Amitabh Bachchan tweeted.

The actor further said that ‘Barfi’ has consolidated his conviction that Bollywood is going through a very good phase presently.

“Indian Cinema, its films, directors, actors, technicians going through a magical phase of a change over .. such exciting times !!” he wrote.

Directed by Anurag Basu, the movie ‘Barfi’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as deaf and dumb Murphy, Priyanka Chopra as an autistic girl Jhilmil and Ileana as Ranbir Kapoor’s instructor.

The movie is about Murphy’s bitter-sweet relationship with Shruti (Ileana) and Jhilmil (Priyanka) and the chain of events that turns his life upside down.

Released late Friday, the movie has been showered with praises and said to have great performances by all the three lead actors.
