Previously it was reported that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be making a comeback on big screen, post delivery, with Mani Ratnam’s upcoming movie.

It was reported that the movie will be an adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s classic novel Rebecca. Aishwarya Rai was rumored to be playing second Mrs. De Winter.

But Mani Ratnam’s wife Suhasini denied the reports.

“Mani is currently focused on Kadal, which still has seven days of shoot left. He will decide on his next only after this film releases. It will take him eight more months after that to write his next script. So, any news about his future project that comes up in this time period is false,” she said to TOI.

Even Mani Ratnam’s spokesperson confirmed the same.

“Mani sir is currently busy with the post-production work of Kadal. He's yet to decide on his next. The stories doing the rounds about his next film with Ash are just rumors,” he said.

Looks like Aishwarya Rai fans have to wait a bit longer to see her on silver screen again.
