The most eagerly anticipated and probably the biggest wedding of the year of Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor took place today.

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, who have been dating for 5 years now, entered the holy matrimony with a registered marriage, which took place at Saif Ali Khan’s residence in suburban Bandra.

“It was a registered marriage with three witnesses -- Kareena's father Randhir Kapoor, her mother Babita and Saif's mother Sharmila," said marriage Registrar Surekha Ramesh PTI.

The ceremony was an intimate and quiet affair and included only family and close friends.

Kareena wore a green salwar-kurta with a heavy embellished red dupatta wrapped around her. She teamed it up with minimal jewelry, red bangles and left her hair open. Saif on the other hand was dressed simply in a grey kurta and white pajamas.

It’s rumored that this wedding will be followed by a reception tomorrow in a city followed. It’s confirmed this will be followed by a gala reception on October 18 in Delhi and a ceremony at Saif's ancestral Pataudi Palace in Haryana.

Saif and Kareena, who had announced in the year beginning that they would tie the knot end of this year, later kept mum about their wedding plans. Time and again they denied that they would be tying knot on October 16. But it was Saif Ali Khan’s mother Sharmila Tagore who announced the wedding.

This is Saif Ali Khan’s second wedding. He had earlier married actress Amrita Singh with whom he has two children son Ibrahim and daughter Sara.
