The trailer of Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’ released recently.

The movie that stars Anushka Sharma, Imran Khan and Pankaj Kapoor is touted to be a drama comedy set in a rustic village of Haryana.

The movie is written, directed and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj. Even the music of the movie has been scored by him.

The mystery surrounding the title of the movie is finally solved as its revealed that Matru, Bijlee and Mandola are the name of the characters played by Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapoor respectively.

The movie also stars Arya Babbar and Shabana Azmi in supporting roles.

The movie is about Harry Mandola (Pankaj Kapur), a wealthy industrialist who loves his drink, his daughter Bijlee (Anushka Sharma) and the unusual bond they both share with Harry’s man Friday, Matru (Imran Khan).

Arya Babbar plays Bijlee’s finance Baadal, the son of a powerful politician Chaudhari Devi (Shabana Azmi).

The movie is set to release on January 11, 2013.
