Yash Chopra embarks upon his last journey

Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, who passed away on Sunday evening, has embarked upon his final journey.

Veteran director, who turned 80 on September 27 this year, succumbed to dengue and multiple organ failure.

Yash Chopra was admitted into hospital on October 13, where he was diagnosed with dengue. But it was reported that the director was recovering well from the fever.

But on Sunday evening the news broke out that Yash Chopra had passed away. The news left millions of his fans in shock and a left vacuum of sorts in the lives of people who have been followers of his classic films. Many fans gathered outside Chopra’s residence to catch a final glimpse of their icon.

Yash Chopra’s larger than life movies earned him the title of ‘King of Romance’. His movies ‘Silsila’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Lamhe’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ and ‘Veer Zaara’ are considered as few of Bollywood’s epic romances.

Veteran director was busy the last few days of his life working on his last directorial venture ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The last Yash Chopra movie will be releasing on November 13.

With Yash Chopra’s demise the era of great Chopra romances comes to an end.
