Shirish Kunder, who was supposed to direct Sajid Nadiadwala's remake of South Indian movie ‘Kick’, was ousted from the movie recently. It’s been reported that the reason behind Shirish Kunder’s ousted from the project is the recent debacle of his movie ‘Joker’.

But choreographer turned director Farah Khan wife of editor turned director Shirish Kunder rubbished these reports.

“It was unfortunate that Joker did not do well. Even his leading actors Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha did not stand by their director. No wonder these rumors started floating around,” said Farah Khan to Mid Day in an interview.

Farah Khan said that it was Shirish who walked out of the movie.

“They never sacked Shirish from the film. It was completely his decision to leave. They should not have projected it like that. In fact, two weeks before Joker's release he had opted out of this film. He had even called Salman and told him about it apart from stating it on a social networking site. But somehow when they announced the development, they made it sound like they had sacked him,” she said.

Farah Khan, who started her acting career at forty with ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’, said that what happened to ‘Joker’ should have been avoided but she and her husband have decided to move on from the fiasco.

“Success and failure come in every profession. What happened to Joker was not nice and could have been avoided. I have decided to move on. It is all about Friday. If our next film works, people are going to forget everything from the past,” she concluded.

Farah Khan is currently busy with pre-production works of her upcoming movie ‘Happy New Year’ with Shah Rukh Khan.
