After successful remake of ‘Don’ and ‘Agneepath’ and ongoing remake of ‘Zanjeer’ its time for yet another Amitabh Bachchan’s cult classic to be remade.

According to reports Karan Johar is planning on remaking Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s 1982 classic film ‘Bemisal’ that starred Amitabh Bachchan, Rakhee and Vinod Khanna.

“Karan Johar wants to remake ‘Bemisal’. We’re not sure whether or not he will direct the movie himself, but he has been thinking about remaking it at some point,” said a source to a daily.

Apparently Karan Johar is very keen on having Aishwarya Rai as the female lead for this venture.

“Karan has been thinking about casting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to play Rakhee’s character from the original. In fact, he is in talks with Aishwarya,” the source said.

Aishwarya Rai, who was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’ in 2010, has been away from movies post giving birth to her daughter Aaradhya last year. Previously it was rumored that Aishwarya would be making a comeback with Mani Ratnam movie but the reports turned out to be false.

But if Aishwarya Rai agrees to do this film then it will be the first time that the she will work with Karan Johar. The film will also see her acting for the first time in a remake of a film that starred her father-in-law.

The movie is scheduled to release mid 2013.
