Actress Katrina Kaif will be seen romancing Shah Rukh Khan, who is called King of Romance, for the first time in Yash Chopra’s last romantic saga ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.

“This is my first movie with Shah Rukh and I am extremely happy. Since I am doing my first romantic film with him, I have kept my fingers crossed. Every romantic film of Shah Rukh was successful, so I had that pressure, but he helped me a lot,” said Katrina Kaif to a daily.

The actress admitted that she was initially intimidated about working with Shah Rukh Khan.

“At first, it was slightly intimidating because I haven't interacted with him for too much before this film happened. We haven't socialized at parties either. It was almost like working with a stranger but as time passed by, the comfort level eventually built up,” she said.

The movie ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ is also Katrina Kaif’s first and last movie with legendary director Yash Chopra, who passed away recently. “Not only with SRK, but also Yashji directing the film. I think both had a legacy behind them. It is really important for me that people should like both of us together,” said Katrina.

Katrina also said that Yash Chopra was one of the most genuine people she has ever met.

“He was one of the most genuine people from the Hindi film industry. Just by looking at your face, he'll figure out what's going on in your mind - whether you're sad or happy. I also remember him for his tendency to crack jokes and make you laugh. Even if he asked a simple question like 'how you are?’ he meant it. It wasn't for formality's sake,” she said.

When asked if she was comfortable with intimate scenes she said, “I don't see a particular scene in seclusion. To me, it's part of the entire movie. Being an actress, I'm supposed to look at it that way and I expect others to do the same. If an intimate scene is an integral piece of the story, then it needs to be done.”

Katrina Kaif, who couldn’t speak a word in Hindi when he started, has come a long way and is now capable to holding conversations entirely in Hindi.

“I genuinely believe I've passed that stage now. I'm quite fluent in the language and I can hold a conversation in Hindi without much conscious effort on my part,” she concluded.

‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma is the last directorial movie by late Yash Chopra.

The movie is set to release tomorrow, November 13.
