Yesteryear actor Randhir Kapoor, son of Raj Kapoor and father of Karisma and Kareena Kapoor, was admitted to the Breach Candy hospital in Mumbai on Saturday after he complained from breathlessness and chest discomfort.
The 65 year old actor was kept under observation in the intensive care unit (ICU) on Saturday. But yesterday the actor was moved from ICU as his condition showed a lot of improvement.
Doctors at the hospital said that Kapoor had suffered respiratory distress and is now stable.
The news that RK was admitted to Breach Candy hospital spread like wildfire with many confusing RK to be Ranbir Kapoor.
Ranbir Kapoor’s mother Neetu Kapoor was bombarded with phone calls enquiring about her son’s health.
“I don't know who's saying Ranbir is sick. He is just fine. It's my husband's brother Randhir who went to Breach Candy,” she said.
She confirmed that her brother-in-law was now doing better and was shifted from ICU.
“He had to undergo certain tests at the hospital. But there is nothing to worry about and he is not ill. I would rather say that these are very normal tests that the doctor had prescribed for him,” said Neetu Singh.
Randhir Kapoor made his acting debut in 1971 with the movie ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’. Later he went on to featured in movies like ‘Raampur Ka Lakshman’, ‘Jawani Diwani’ and ‘Kasme Vaade’.
He wasn’t very successful with his movie career so he quit acting in 1984 and took up filmmaking.
He was recently seen along with his brother Rishi Kapoor in Sajid Khan’s ‘Housefull 2’.
