2012 was a great year for Akshay Kumar with five big releases – ‘Housefull 2’, ‘Rowdy Rathore’, ‘Joker’, ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Khiladi 786’. Except for his ‘Joker’, the other four movies have been declared hits. Infact, his movies ‘Housefull 2’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’ were blockbuster hits and collected over 100 Crores at the box-office.
It seems like 2013 too will end up being a good year for Akshay Kumar as his movies ‘Special Chabbis’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2’ and ‘Thuppakki’ remake are among the most eagerly anticipated movies of the year.
The actor has kick started 2013 by shooting for the Hindi remake of Tamil action thriller ‘Thuppakki’.
“Started shooting my first film in the New Year, the Hindi remake of Thuppakki! Would love to get your good wishes today," tweeted Akshay Kumar recently.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who has already worked with Akshay Kumar in ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Joker’, has been signed as the female lead in the remake.
The Tamil movie ‘Thuppakki’ that starred Vijay and Trisha was a huge blockbuster hit.
AR Murugadoss, who directed the Tamil movie, will be directing the remake as well. This is director’s second Bollywood movie after blockbuster hit ‘Ghajini’.
The movie is being produced by Vipul Shah.
