Actor Arshad Warsi has chosen Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ over RajKumar Hirani’s movie ‘Peekay’.

The actor, who has previously worked with RajKumar Hirani in the successful ‘Munnabhai’ franchise, was approached for a key role in the movie ‘Peekay’ but had to turn down the movie as the movie’s dates clashed with ‘Dedh Ishqiya’s’ dates.

“Rajkumar Hirani wanted me to do ‘Peekay’. Unfortunately, the dates of ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ and ‘Peekay’ were clashing. And I had to choose one project. So I decided to go with 'Dedh Ishqiya',” confirmed Arshad Warsi to PTI.

The movie ‘Peekay’ stars Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput in lead roles.

‘Dedh Ishqiya’, sequel of hit movie ‘Ishqiya’, stars Naseeruddin Shah, Madhuri Dixit and Kangna Ranaut in lead roles.

The actor is also busy with yet another comedy ‘Jolly LLB’.

When asked why he prefers comedies, the actor said, “I think there is a lot of pain every where around and laughter is the best medicine. I want people to have fun, laugh out. Out of ten movies that I am offered eight are comedies but still in that zone I choose to do something different.”

The movie is story about two lawyers (played by Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani) who are pitted against each other.

The movie stars Amrita Rao as Arshad's love interest, while Rishi Kapoor plays a crucial role.

The movie is directed by Subhash Kapoor of ‘Phas Gaya Re Obama’ fame.
