Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif to do their seventh film together

Before Sonakshi Sinha, actress Katrina Kaif was considered as Akshay Kumar’s lucky mascot.

The duo featured together in six movies – ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye’, ‘Namastey London’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Singh is Kinng’, ‘De Dana Dan’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’, out of which four movies were declared as super hits.

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, who were last seen in disastrous movie ‘Tees Maar Khan’, are all set to come together for their seventh movie. If the rumors are to be believed then Akshay and Katrina will star in the Hindi remake of Tamil movie ‘Ramana’.

“Akshay and Katrina have been probably the most popular hit pair in recent times with blockbusters like 'Singh is Kinng', 'Namaste London' and 'Welcome', amongst others. Interestingly, in spite of them doing back-to-back films, they were hardly linked with each other romantically," said a source to Mid-Day.

‘Ramana’, a 2002 Tamil action movie, starring Vijaykanth and Simran, was directed by AR Murugadoss. But the Hindi version of the movie will be directed by Southern film director M Raja. Along with Akshay Kumar, the movie will also be produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan.

“The initial talks are already done and the project is expected to go on floors by the end of the year. Shabina and Akshay were keen that the film should have Katrina once again as their fans would love to see them getting back together on the big screen,” the source added.

‘Ramana’ went on to become a blockbuster hit and was later remade in Telugu as ‘Tagore’ with Chiranjeevi in the lead and then in Kannada as ‘Vishnu Sena’ with Vishnuvardhan in the lead role.

Both Katrina Kaif and Shabina Khan remained unavailable for comment
