Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who has been sentenced to five years in jail in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case on March 21, has decided to complete three of his under production movies – ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Policegiri’ and ‘Peekay’ before his jail sentence.

“Yes, Sanju Sir has made a commitment. ‘Zanjeer’ requires three more days, Rajkumar Hirani's ‘Peekay’ requires seven more days and ‘Policegiri’ needs 17 days to be completed,” said a close friend of Sanjay Dutt to a daily.

“In spite of the shock that he went through on (March 21) Thursday (of hearing the honorable Supreme Court's verdict), Sanju Sir assured the ‘Zanjeer’ director Apoorva Lakhia, ‘Peekay’ maker Rajkumar Hirani and the ‘Policegiri’ producer T.P.Aggarwal that their films would be completed. Sanju Sir told them, 'Boss, let's complete the shooting and my dubbing. Pataa nahin aage kya hoga (Who knows what will happen in future)',” he added.

The Supreme Court upheld Sanjay Dutt's conviction under the Arms Act for illegally possessing weapons, and sentenced him to five years' imprisonment. The 53-year-old has already spent 18 months in jail. He was convicted by the TADA court for illegal possession of a 9 mm pistol and an AK-56 rifle.

Sanjay Dutt, who had recently agreed to do a cameo in Raj Kumar Gupta’s ‘Ghanchakkar’ on insistence of his ‘Lage Rahe Munnabhai’ co-star Vidya Balan, has opted out of the special appearance.

“Sanjay has been running against time to complete all his pending projects. He had a cameo in Vidya Balan's next where he was supposed to play himself. The actor had agreed to do the role at his ‘Lage Raho Munnabhai’ co-star's insistence,” said a source to daily.

“The role was perfect for Sanju baba as he had to just play himself. So no one else can replace him. It's just a cameo while there are other semi-completed projects awaiting his return,” the source added.

Recently the third installment of Munnabhai franchise ‘Munnabhai Chale Delhi’ with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in lead was announced. Now the fate of this movie hangs in balance.
