Director Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming movie ‘Shootout At Wadala’ has been awarded ‘A’ certificate by Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC).

Though the Censor Board asked for no visual cuts the board asked the director to clean up a few dialogues spoken by John Abraham, Manoj Bajpayee and Tusshar Kapoor. But director Sanjay Gupta isn’t complaining about it.

“I think the censor board has been reasonable with my film. We expected an 'A' certificate and got that. Yeah, they did object to some dialogues. My actors are busy re-dubbing the dialogues that the CBFC wanted changed," said Gupta to IANS.

‘Shootout At Wadala’ is a movie adaptation of Hussain Zaidi's "Dongri to Dubai". The movie involves around the real life chase and first encounter of gangster Manya Surve by Mumbai police, in which Manya Surve was shot dead.

The director revealed that he already knew that the hard hitting material in the movie may cause trouble with the censor board.

According to sources, the filmmaker voluntarily removed a whole sequence where debutant Siddharth Kapoor discussed the genesis and relevance of a Hindi expletive with his pals.

The censor also axed the scene a sequence where a cop tells John that it is not his fault that John has turned out the way he has but his mother's fault. The CBFC has ordered that the reference to the mother be removed.

In another sequence, Tusshar Kapoor exchanges girl talk with his pal and there's a reference to the Taj Mahal and Shah Jehan, which the CBFC has asked to be removed. Also, since no historical or political figure is allowed to be mentioned, the CBFC has asked Gupta to remove a reference to Subhas Chandra Bose made by Manoj.

The Censor board has asked the director to change the lyrics of Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone's controversial and hugely popular item song ‘Laila Teri Le Legi’ to ‘Le Legi to Loot Legi’ in certain portions.

‘Shootout At Wadala’ ‘Shootout at Wadala’ stars John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Sood, Mahesh Manjrekar, Manoj Bajpai, Tusshar Kapoor, Ronit Roy and Kangna Ranaut.

The movie will release on May 3rd.
