Yash Raj Films Entertainment, a Hollywood branch of the one of Bollywood’s most prestigious production house Yash Raj Films, is all set to co-finance a movie on legendary Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman, who acted in iconic movies like ‘Casablanca’, ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ ‘Joan of Arc’ and ‘Anastasia’.
Actor turned producer Uday Chopra, who heads the Hollywood branch, revealed that the production house has acquired the movie rights of the author Chris Greenhalgh's novel ‘Seducing Ingrid Bergman’. The novel narrates the inspirational love story between the actress and war photographer Robert Capa.
Uday Chopra believes it will be an inspirational tale and revealed that they will collaborate with believes it will be an inspirational tale.
“There are certain untold stories which on hearing, one realizes that not only is it a very moving story of a woman but it also seems to deliver a message which goes deeper than the life of just one woman. It seems to talk about all women through her, creating in her an icon," Uday said in a statement.
“Ingrid Bergman was just such an icon and her romance with Robert Capa is a story that needs to be told," he added.
This is YRF Entertainment's second collaboration with Arash Amel, who worked on the Olivier Dahan directed ‘Grace of Monaco’, which will be released later this year by the Weinstein Company.
"I believe that Arash Amel, who also wrote ‘Grace of Monaco’, is the perfect writer to bring this story to life and I'm very excited to have YRF Entertainment bring it to the world," Uday said.
The script of the movie is nearly complete and further details of the project will be revealed soon.
