Director Rajkumar Santoshi, who wrote and directed the 1994 cult classic ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, is currently busy penning script for the sequel.
The filmmaker is keen on having his original cast of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the sequel. But he said that if the actors fail to accommodate the sequel in their busy schedules he would still go ahead with the movie with a new crop of actors.
“I am working on the script. I have had discussions about it with Aamir and Salman. When I complete the script, I will hand it over to both of them. If everything falls in place, they will be part of the sequel too. But if, in case, they don't have the time, I will get new actors on board," said Rajkumar Santoshi to a popular daily.
The director said that the movie will also feature the original female cast of Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon in small but crucial roles.
“The film is not possible without Karisma and Raveena. I don't want to reveal the story, but there is a scene in the beginning that features them," said the filmmaker.
The director revealed that the sequel will carry forward the story of the original and the two protagonists Amar and Prem (played by Aamir and Salman respectively) will take on new adventures.
"The story moves ahead (in the sequel). It is about two characters and their new adventures," he concluded.
If Rajkumar Santoshi pulls off this casting coup, the movie will end up being one of the most hugely anticipated movies.
