For past few days rumors have been rife that trouble has been brewing in Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin’s marriage.

The couple today issued a joint statement revealing that the couple were separating for an indifferent time period and have requested privacy. But the couple denied that they were getting a divorce.

“Me and Kalki are separating; we are taking time off from each other to figure things out. We are not divorcing. We request the media to please respect our privacy and give us our space and not speculate. Thank you, Kalki and Anurag,” the statement read.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, 41, and actress Kalki Koechlin, 29, married in April 2011. The couple met during the filming of ‘Dev D’ and fell in love.

Anurag was previously married to Aarti Bajaj with whom he has a daughter while it is Kalki's first marriage.
