Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit, who is making her comeback with the movie ‘Dedh Ishqiya’, said that she chose to play Begum Para because she was attracted to the various facets of the character.
“The best thing I liked about the role is that Begum Para is a multilayered character,” said Madhuri Dixit to IANS.
“What kind of woman Begum Para is, will be revealed at the end in the film," she added.
‘Dedh Ishqiya’ is a sequel to 2010 super hit movie ‘Ishqiya’, which starred Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah.
The movie will see Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah move from Gorakhpur (where ‘Ishqiya’ was set) to Lucknow and meet a highly cultured Muslim family that includes Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi. While Naseeruddin Shah will romance Madhuri, Arshad Warsi will romance Huma Qureshi.
‘Dedh Ishqiya’ is a romantic saga of individuals who are caught amidst love, compassion and deceit. The actress says the film has an entertainment quotient and hopes the audience enjoys watching the film as much as she did while shooting for it.
“As a film, as a product I would say the film is very entertaining. There is not even a single point in the film where the rhythm is missing, it has very tightly woven characters," the 46-year-old said.
"I enjoyed shooting for the film and I hope audience also enjoy watching the film as much as I did while shooting," she added.
The movie will release on January 10.
