Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, who shared screen space with Vidya Balan in ‘Ishqiya’, said that he missed her in the sequel ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ but insisted that change of cast was required in the sequel for the story to move forward.

2010 blockbuster hit ‘Ishqiya’ starred Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah and Vidya Balan. While the sequel features Naseeruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, Vidya Balan has been replaced by Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi.

“Yes, I did miss her (Vidya) in the sequel. She had done a great job in 'Ishqiya', but the sequel demanded for a different star cast," Arshad Warsi said to PTI.

“And I must say I had a great fun shooting with Madhuri and Huma in the film. But yes I did miss Vidya," he added.

While Naseeruddin Shah has been cast opposite Madhuri Dixit, Arshad Warsi has been paired with Huma Qureshi.

“When I was shooting with Huma, I realized her screen presence is wonderful. She looks gorgeous on screen. I don't mean to say that she doesn't look nice off-screen, but she looks damn beautiful on screen,” he concluded.

‘Dedh Ishqiya’ is a romantic saga of individuals who are caught amidst love, compassion and deceit. The movie will see Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah move from Gorakhpur (where ‘Ishqiya’ was set) to Lucknow and meet a highly cultured Muslim family that includes Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi.

The movie will release on January 10.
