Forget 100 Crore club or even 200 Crore club ‘Dhoom 3’ has created history by becoming the first Bollywood movie to become to gross over 500 Crores worldwide.
‘Dhoom 3’ has grossed Rs 501.35 crore ($83.56 million) worldwide since its release on December 20 last year.
The news was confirmed by Yash Raj Films production house.
“‘Dhoom 3’ continues to create history at both the Indian and overseas box office. It is now officially the first Indian film to cross Rs 500 crore worldwide,” read a statement from YRF.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh too shared the news through his Twitter account.
“In terms of *gross BO numbers*, #Dhoom3 is the first Hindi film to cross Rs 500 cr mark *worldwide*. Creates History,” Taran Adarsh.
According to the breakup of the gross box office collections, in India the movie has grossed Rs 351.29 crore, while in the overseas market, it has collected Rs 150.06 crore ($25.01 million). The collection totals Rs 501.35 crore.
‘Dhoom 3’ is the third movie from the ‘Dhoom’ franchise. The movie is directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra.
The movie stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra in lead roles.
‘Dhoom 3’ is yet to open in international territories like Germany, Peru, Romania, Japan, Russia and Turkey.
