Superstar Salman Khan’s latest release ‘Jai Ho’ has failed to make a huge impact at the box-office. The movie only managed to garner barely over Rs 17 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office.

According to trade analysts in comparisons to Salman Khan’s previous movies ‘Jai Ho’ won’t be creating fireworks and breaking records at the box-office like the actor’s previous movies.

“As per my knowledge, it's less that Rs 17 crore. The figure is quite low," Rajesh Thadani from Multimedia Combines told IANS.

“When 'Ek Tha Tiger' released in 2012, it collected around Rs 30 crore on its opening day," he added.

Another trade analysts Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas thinks that the reason audience hasn’t loved ‘Jai Ho’ is because it’s very similar to his other action drama movies like ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

“On Friday, the occupancy was just 40 percent and Saturday was 50 percent. Sunday's morning shows were around 80 percent. Going by the performance, Jai Ho will probably touch Rs 100 crore in a week, but not in the first three days of its release. Some people from the audience said that it's repetitive. People are probably fed up of the fact that he is continuously doing action movies," said Sahay.

‘Jai Ho’ is directed by Salman Khan’s younger brother Sohail Khan. The movie stars debutant actress Daisy Shah, along with Tabu and Danny Denzongpa.

The political drama is a remake of Telugu movie ‘Stalin’ starring Southern Megastar Chiranjeevi.
