Actress Alia Bhatt, who will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’ sans makeup, said that appearing in the movie without any makeup was a blessing.

“I didn't really have any problem shooting without make-up. In fact, there was no stress about touch-up, the more crumpled the clothes, the better it was,” said 20 year old Alia Bhatt to IANS.

“So the dirtier I looked in appearance, the better it was. So I didn't have to think much and that was actually very comfortable," she added.

The actress, who made her debut in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, said that there were moments in the movie where she surprised herself.

“There were couple of moments where I surprised myself. But they were more physical strength moments, not really acting as such. I felt I was very weak in terms of pushing myself but I managed to do it," Alia said.

In ‘Highway’ Alia Bhatt makes a debut as a singer.

The movie stars Randeep Hooda as the male lead.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali and Produced by Imtiaz's Window Seat Films and presented by Nadiadwala, the film will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures on February 21.
