If the sources are to be believed then filmmaker Karan Johar has approached Aamir Khan to star in his upcoming home production ‘Shuddhi’.

Initially ‘Shuddhi’ was announced with Hrithik Roshan playing the male lead. But later the actor walked out of the movie due to date issues.

Later reports emerged that Shah Rukh Khan was approached for the role followed by Ranveer Singh. Now the insiders say that Karan Johar has approached none other than Aamir Khan.

“Karan is still trying to lock the lead for his film and has recently shared the script of Shuddhi with Aamir, but nothing has been finalized yet. Aamir has asked Karan to give him time to go through the script,” said a source to Mid-Day.

But while Karan Johar remained unavailable for comments, Aamir Khan’s spokesperson went on to deny the news.

Ever since ‘Shuddhi’ was announced the movie has run into one hurdle after another. After Hrithik Roshan walking out of the movie, Kareena Kapoor too followed the suit. It’s now rumored that Deepika Padukone will play the female lead.

Interestingly, Karan has already announced the release date of the film - December 25, 2014 - on a social networking site, even though he hasn't found his leading man yet.

The movie will be directed by ‘Agneepath’ fame director Karan Malhotra.
