From the trailers of the movie ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’, starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, the fans have already drawn similarities between it and 2007’s blockbuster hit ‘Jab We Met’, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.
Both the movie’s, seem to have the story lines of strangers meeting each other by chance and ending up changing each other’s lives.
It’s not just the fans but even Imran Khan feels that his movie ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ is urban ‘Jab We Met’.
“Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is an urban Jab We Met. According to me, the journey and relationship graphs of both films are almost identical. In fact, if we were to look at the two movies only in spirit, then our film is almost a sequel, or a younger version set in an urban milieu,” he said.
The other similarity observed is between Kareena Kapoor’s Riana in ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ and her iconic Geet from ‘Jab We Met’.
“Riana changes everyone that she touches in life. To be honest, Geet, Kareena’s character in ‘Jab We Met’, has become iconic and was almost a turning point in her career. Her character Riana will do the same with an urban audience,” he said.
But recently Kareena Kapoor had said that both characters were similar in some ways but they were different from one another in many ways.
The movie ‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ is directed by debutant director Shakun Batra and will release on February 10th.
